Clean-up Drive and Tree Guarding Activity

Marketing Junior Executives with its commitment in helping and nurturing the environment continue its one year program with the city government of Baguio which is the Tree Planting Activity. The first phase of the program which is the tree planting was successfully accomplished last trimester and now Phase two has been implemented last December 4,2011. Phase two, the clean-up drive and tree guarding activity aims to measure the development of the seeds that was planted last trimester and continue to preserve them.

Before the said activity, Marketing Junior Executives was able to get Starbucks as their sponsor for the coffee grounds which were used as a fertilizer. For the past two weeks, Mr. Jester Umali , Mr. Lois Lupango and Mr. Mark Go collected the coffee grounds at Starbucks every night at around 8 o’clock. Also, the officers were able to seek help from Project H.E.L.E.N through Ms. Caress Dulatre and DR. Leonarda R. Aguinalde - Vice President for Administration of UC. And with the help of Mr. Jeffrey Remiendo – Genral Manager of UC Canteen, the officers were able to raise funds amounting to Php 1, 240.00 from selling the recyclable materials collected every Monday at the canteen and making MJE as the beneficiary in support for our
environment program. The money was used to buy snacks for the participants and other cleaning materials that was used for the activity.

The activity was participated by a total of 30 students including MJE officers along with three club advisers – Ms. Joan S. Gorospe,Ms. Rene Flores and Ms. Krystal Anne Sumcad and one representative of the city government of Baguio, Mr. Ramon Dacawi – founder of Eco-Walk Program It was also joined by different CBA academic clubs such as JFINEX, NMEC and JPMAP


Once again, the Marketing Junior Executives has accomplished another successful activity for the community with the support of its members, advisers, Mr. Ramon Dacawi, Project H.E.L.E.N and other CBA academic clubs.
